Pickleball Etiquette for Open Play
To ensure everyone enjoys their time on the courts, please follow these guidelines:
General Etiquette
- Be respectful to all players, regardless of skill level.
- Introduce yourself to new players and welcome everyone.
- Rotate off the court promptly after your game if others are waiting.
- Avoid coaching or offering advice unless requested by the player.
- Keep loud conversations and distractions away from active games.
Open Play Rules
- Games are typically played to 11 points, win by 2.
- If the courts are full and many players are waiting, adopt the Four On / Four Off rotation method:
- The four players on the court finish their game, then rotate off to allow the next four waiting players to take the court.
- Limit warm-ups to 5 minutes when others are waiting.
Challenge Court
- Court 3 is designated as the Challenge Court unless otherwise stated.
- Winners of the Challenge Court may stay on for one additional game if challengers are waiting, then rotate off to allow others a chance to play.
- This court is reserved for higher-level competitive play.
Facility Notes
- Gym shoes are required to protect the floors and maintain their good condition.
- Use the paddle rack or sign-up board to manage your place in the rotation.
- Respect any announcements or temporary court assignments made by staff.
